Soon, nearly everyone in Michigan will have access to high-speed internet. Thanks to the largest federally funded internet expansion in Michigan’s history, affordable and reliable internet is on its way. Michigan received $1.559 billion in Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding to help close the digital divide by building the infrastructure needed to expand high speed internet access. High speed internet access can help more Michiganders connect to education, remote work, telehealth and other opportunities. It can also help people stay connected with family, friends and their communities.
