You must be a resident of the Township to serve on the Planning Commission, which meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
The Planning Commission makes recommendations related to the adoption or amendments to the zoning ordinance, conducts public hearings on various types of development proposals, and advises the Township Board on land use planning policy through the master plan. Members of the Planning Commission receive $40 per meeting in compensation and attend an average of one evening meeting per month. The township also provides funding for educational seminars, support materials, and other educational opportunities to help commissioners perform their duties.
For more information about the Planning Commission, please contact Dave Roesler, Chair, Fruitland Township Planning Commission, or Supervisor, Jeff Marcinkowski, at 231-766-3208 or via e-mail at supervisor@fruitlandmi.gov.
