Election/Clerk Reminders

The General Election is one week away!

The Public Accuracy Test will be held at Fruitland Township Hall this Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 10:00am. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. The accuracy test is conducted to demonstrate that the program and the computer being used to tabulate the results of the election counts the votes in the manner prescribed by the law.

The Clerk’s office will be open this Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 8:00am – 4:00pm for Election purposes only. Both Precincts will be open from 7:00am – 8:00pm on Election Day. We will have staff in the Township Hall office until 4:00pm on that day. After 4:00pm, the Township Hall will be open for Election purposes only.

Here are some general reminders:

  • If you were expecting an absentee ballot and have not received one, please contact the Clerk’s office ASAP.
  • If you have an absentee ballot and are planning on voting absentee, please plan to return your ballot to the Township Hall, not through the mail. We cannot guarantee the ballot will make it in time for the election if you mail it at this time.
  • All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00pm on Election Day to be counted.
  • If you received an absentee ballot and choose to vote in person on election day, please bring your absentee ballot with you to the precinct to surrender before you vote. If you no longer have the ballot, you will need to sign an “Affidavit of Absent Voter” when you vote at the polls.
  • If you need to register to vote and want to vote in this election, you must register in person at the Township Hall.
